Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Bass King Pro Team Angler Joey Nania fished day three of the Bass Pro Shops BASS Central Open ending the tournament in 5th place overall.  Joey went into the day on the strength of a day two 11-15 bag and knew it would take a miracle to catch eventual winner Tommy Biffle who had a ten pound lead for the finale.  "But hey, who knows,"  Joey said, "miracles happen all the time in professional sports!"

Joey headed back to his honey hole because he had plenty of unfished water left and put together a four fish bag weighing 8-14 which was the fourth best weight of the day as the fish got stingy for all but one - Chris Zaldain who weighed in 14 -2.  Most of the other bags were smaller than on previous days. "I just kept my head down and kept flippin' and flippin' all day long."

Joey is excited about the finish, his best in an Open Series event, "I really worked hard and stayed focused the whole time. I feel like I am fishing really well right now and looking forward to the final Open Series Event back on Table Rock in October. For now I am really happy with my finish, happy to get a check and to be the highest finishing top ten Nitro angler!"  This was Joey's second consecutive tournament in which he made the cut and got a check the last being the PAA event on Neely Henry.
