1.13.12 – Newport Beach, CA – California has a unique fishery when it comes to bass fishing.  Sure, everyone knows about the lunker largemouth that haunt many of the Southern California lakes – but, what many do not know is the incredible saltwater bass fishery the rocky coastline of California has to offer.  Bully Calico Bass to 10-pounds or more can beat up most unsuspecting anglers, and feisty sand and spotted bay bass provide great action year round for southland anglers.    Catch and release saltwater bass fishing is taking this area by storm with a nearly 100-team tournament series called the SWBA (Saltwater Bass Anglers) offering So Cal anglers the opportunity for competition in this fast growing sector of bass fishing.  For bass fisherman who plan on traveling to California to do some fishing, we highly recommend trying out this unique fishery of saltwater bass fishing.
